The Master Butcher. ISO 400 f 5.6 s/s 1/64 This shot was taken in one of the fridges in the cutting area, I asked Mark to stand close to the hind quarter so as to get the detail of the meat in the picture , I also ask Mark to look the serious business man. I like this picture For the composition, detail . texture , the black and white color .I don't think that this image could be cropped as I would lose vital detail.  Lewis Hines -worker. |

| Color And Fun . ISO 200 f 5.6 s/s 1/64. This photograph is a little more on the fun side and in color, I made mark feel a little more at ease , letting him know the shot was great and it was just what I needed , as I know mark quite well he replied " I was a good liar " !!!! I would of liked this shot to be a little lighter but it is as it appeared in sight .Again the picture has good composition ,texture ,color line. |

| Ready For Business. ISO 200 1/60 5.6 Here in this shot we moved to a window for more light, with an item that Mark uses most days a small cooked meat press .I like this shot again the serious business man. |

| Add caption ISO 800 1/34 5.6 In this photograph Mark is facing the window which is adding more light eliminating back-ground shadow. This helps show the detail in the texture and shape of the pies. |

| The Chopper. ISO 200 1/60 5.6 In this shot it shows the typical true fun butcher !!!! laughing , joking and cheeky behavior . I like the glint of the steel of the chopper and the expression on Marks face as he laughing , the only down side is the shadows, as this was a darker area. I took the shot half way up a set of stairs looking down so as to catch what light there was to accentuate the chopper head. I was aware of health and safety at all time ,watching footings whilst moving around the work place. |

| Only As Good As Your Tools. (sharp !) ISO 400 1/160 5.6 Mark was sharping one of his knives, this shot shows the Sharpe edge of the knife the texture and shape of the steel in the light. |

ReplyDeleteThese images I feel are better portraits than the shots done before because you have taken time to position the people within their working environment, and also not necessarily smiling at the camera which makes them more like considered portraits. Compare these shots to maybe the Irving Penn shots of market traders.
