Taking control -item and location

Days long gone.
In this picture I have use a telephone sign from the good old days. I decided to take the sign out to
the road area where you may of seen one in years gone by , I chose to put it down on the ground as
any were else didn't seem to look right. I tried it and liked it! The photograph was taken late afternoon,
I think the depth of field and light is good and I like the angle of the sign and the texture the gravel and
grass brings to the picture.   ISO 400   f 1/280 5

Lights out.
This setting is in my dinning room, I have a candelabra over the table. The picture was taken late afternoon  with not a great deal of light entering the room , my son was blowing the candle out slowly and you can see the flame flickering as his breath hits it . I am not over happy with this shot, I would of liked the face area to have been more defined ,although
I like the warmth the candlelight gives.

                                              I'm forever blowing bubbles.
My fishy picture is taken in my bathroom ,the fish is made of clay and was made and designed by a
college student. I again chose this as it is another favorite item in my house .I decided to place a piece of
A4 paper behind the fish, getting my daughter to draw the bubbles which appear to be coming out of the
fish's mouth , although the shutter speed was to slow, overexposed and the fish is a blur I quite like the
        effect.                          ISO 200   f 3   8

                                                            Mirror mirror
My old mirror! salvaged off a scrap heap about 20 years ago. I have never tried to capture
someones reflection before so as the assignment says "think out of the box", I took the mirror outside
for extra light and a different location , I think this has worked and I really like this photograph .
As my daughter was wearing bright clothing and I wanted the eye to be on the reflection, not on the
color of the clothes, or any background color, just texture! As the photograph is taken in black and
white format the reflection is more prominent.

When can we go to the moon?

I borrowed my niece for this shot ,again using items that are in my house that I love or
love using (cooking utensils) ,it was about 7pm and  noticed a really lovely evening sky although the
light was fading I wanted my subject in silo-et but still showing the props , I do like this picture
although jess is not in full darkness, the rich color tones in the sky really appeal to me and
I think the rule of thirds apply in this photograph .
